Zamara Foundation Intersectional Feminist Leadership Institute (ZaFLI) Cohort 7 Application
Zamara Foundation Intersectional Feminist Leadership Institute (ZaFLI)
Zamara Foundation is inviting applications for the 7th ZaFLI cohort, a transformative feminist leadership programme for young women in all their diversities aged 18-29, as well as gender-diverse activists, who are passionate about feminist values and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). ZaFLI is designed to build the political consciousness of young feminists by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to effectively champion SRHR in Kenya. As an intersectional feminist initiative, the institute creates a safe and empowering space for participants to critically engage with issues affecting their reproductive autonomy, while strengthening movements that challenge systemic oppression and inequality.
The programme provides a space for learning, reflection, and growth, enabling young women in all their diversities to deepen their understanding of power, oppression, and inequality through an intersectional feminist lens. Through this experience, participants strengthen their leadership, build collective power, and develop strategies to drive transformative change in their communities. In 2026, ZaFLI will convene Cohort 7, bringing together participants from the Coastal region (Kwale and Kilifi), Nairobi and Kajiado, for an intensive five-day residential training. The programme will focus on feminist movement building, SRHR advocacy, digital activism, and policy engagement, strengthening participants’ capacity to organize, strategize, and lead change.
This year, ZaFLI also seeks to amplify feminist voices and stories, while strengthening grassroots advocacy efforts to influence policy and advance reproductive justice, with young feminists leading the way. The institute aims to nurture bold feminist leaders while fostering sisterhood and solidarity.
